Explore the less trodden layers of Tokyo and Japanese culture whilst developing your photographic skills.
Meg Hewitt has travelled to Tokyo many times to create her body of work, ‘Tokyo Is Yours’ and will introduce you to many places outside of the usual route.
Over five days you will further develop your own style and learn more about Meg’s techniques whilst developing a new series of work.
The workshop will commence with a review of your existing portfolio and we will then discuss your personal progression through the course where we will focus on shooting, editing and sequencing culminating in a short projection presentation of your new work at the end of the workshop. There will be group sessions and one on one sessions each day.
March and April is one of the best times of year to visit Japan as the weather is mild, the light good and you may also have the opportunity to experience hanami – cherry blossom viewing.
The venue for the workshop will be near Asakusa and I am very excited to announce we now also have a live in option available.
Cost of the workshop only option does not include accommodation, travel or on the ground expenses. It is also advisable to purchase travel insurance for unexpected events as we are not responsible for travel cancellation costs.
The ‘live in’ in option includes six nights Japanese style accommodation from March 27 to April 2, free tea and coffee, wifi and dinner together on the first night before the workshop but does not include travel or on the ground expenses. There are eight individual Japanese style rooms available with two bathrooms. The accomodation is contemporary and clean.
The live in option is an additional $600 AUD which is very good value for Tokyo.
